How We Got Started
A-1 Electric was first started by William H. Greenage Jr., who chose to become an electrical work tradesman at the age of eighteen. Having grown up in a family of tradespeople such as carpenters, plumbers, and painters, Bill understood the value of skilled labor and saw that electrical work would be a field where he could make a difference for many years to come.
After starting A-1 Electric, Bill began to show his son, Thomas J. Greenage, the ins and outs of being an electrician from the time he was eight. Under his father’s tutelage, Thomas learned the ability to solve any problem, no matter how difficult.
How A-1 Electric Set Itself Apart
Bill was one of the first licensed electricians in Pennsylvania, having been granted a Chalfont License. He did not rest on this distinction alone, though, and opted to have a local underwriter visit every job site to inspect the work long before the state required it. Between the skill Bill brought and the assessments of the underwriters, A-1 Electric was able to explain in detail how different modifications to an electrical power system would impact homeowners.

Thomas has taken over the business’s management now and ensures that the entire team of professionals has an accurate understanding of the ins and out of the electrical work they’re performing.
